About Alpha Photonics
Optical engineering.
A system perspective.
Alpha Photonics brings a system perspective to optical engineering, fiber lasers, custom components, and sensing for government customers and prime contractors.
Company
From the component
to the mission requirement.
Alpha Photonics connects optical design, laser sources, components, sensing, and control around the performance of the complete subsystem.
The company’s work connects optical design and modeling to novel wavelength generation, spatial-mode control, combiner manufacturing, soft-glass processing, novel fiber assemblies, laser-welded and butterfly packaging, production, integration, and characterization. A source, fiber interface, receiver, or control choice is evaluated for its effect on the application, including efficiency, useful measurement performance, thermal load, and integration.
Alpha Photonics operates across Massachusetts and Colorado, bringing together laser-development experience, optical modeling, and practical hardware engineering.
A connecting idea
Photon efficiency,
from kilowatts to single photons.
At high power, optical losses become a thermal and packaging problem. In sensing, limited photons shape what can be measured. Alpha Photonics addresses both through the source, optical interfaces, receiver, and system architecture.
Optomechanical engineering
Packaging is part of the optical design.

Working together
A technical partner
for the work ahead.
Alpha Photonics supports government R&D, prime-contractor programs, subsystem development, and prototype efforts. Work can begin with an optical design question, a component limitation, a performance budget, or an integration requirement.
The objective is a concrete engineering result: a resolved design, a usable component, an integrated prototype, or a measurement that establishes the next step.
